Geothermal Heating And Cooling
-
It is now possible for homes that have smaller in city yards with limited access to have Geothermal installed. It is called a horizontal thermal loop. Before the most common method of getting the pipe into the ground was either a large wide deep trench or a vertical digging machine to make a deep bore. If you had a small yard like a lot of people in Seattle then the large trench might not be an option and if you where not lucky enough to have an alley for the big drill to access then you where out of luck. But now with horizontal drilling that was previously used for gas and cable lines there is hope. One can drill from the front street (just as a for instance) and drill toward the home going actually under it 10-20 feet deep and come up in the backyard. This allows the HDPE pipe to be pulled under the house! Problem solved. Every job is differant of course and the soil conditions still have a say in what can and can't be done but the odds just got better! And with the current price hikes in Natural gas prices and all the energy credits out there Geothermal is starting to look pretty good. Seattle Drain Service is a Seattle specialist in pipe installation. We do the hard jobs and the ones that others shy away from. So give us a call to set up a free appointment to discuss your plans.
